The fifth week of the college football season in Massachusetts kicked off with two intriguing matchups Friday evening, and below we’ve provided recaps and highlights from each contest.
Bentley 17, Stonehill 7 – The Falcons advanced to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play, as well as earned their first six-game winning streak since 2004. Lorenzo Warren and Jack Pizzotti each rushed for one score, while Will Lockwood kicked a 39-yard field goal. Stonehill’s only tally came in the second quarter when Justin Willis rushed for a six-yard touchdown.
Harvard 52, Holy Cross 3 – Quarterback Colton Chapple finished with five touchdowns (four through the air, one on the ground), while the Crimson constructed a 49-3 lead at intermission, which blossomed into a 49 point victory. The win not only avenged last season’s defeat to the Crusaders in Worcester, but also marked the Crimson’s 12-game winning streak as the longest in the Football Championship Subdivision.
