On Saturday evening, the New England Football Conference unveiled its weekly offensive and defensive awards, which we’ve provided below:
Offensive Player of the Week: Rob Bambini (Curry College) caught four touchdowns against the Western New England College Golden Bears, which included the game-winning touchdown with one second left in regulation that provided the Colonels with their third win of the season. Yet, despite his four touchdowns on Saturday, Bambini also set a few Curry College records and they are the following: receptions (181), receiving yards (2,537) and touchdowns (32). The senior wide receiver from Westwood has recorded 45 catches for 523 yards and eight touchdowns this season.
Defensive Player of the Week: Matt Begley (Worcester State) recorded a career-best 18 tackles (16 solo), a sack and an interception in the third quarter, which provided momentum for the Lancers offense to score the game-winning score.
