Wheaton Women’s Soccer Remains Unbeaten, Reis Closes In On 300 Wins

By Matt Noonan

This past Saturday, Wheaton College’s women’s soccer team recorded their sixth consecutive shutout in a 4-0 win against the United States Coast Guard Academy, which pushed their overall record to 13-0-2 and conference mark to 6-0.

The win against the Bears pushed the Lyons winning streak to eight games and extended their current unbeaten streak to 15 games.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) have the Lyons pegged as seventh in the country and first in New England for Div. III.

Luis Reis is two wins away from reaching the 300-win plateau as the Lyons head coach. If he can obtain two more wins, he’ll become the sixth active Div. III head coach to reach this particular milestone.

Wheaton returns to the grass on Tuesday for a critical New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) against MIT before traveling to Babson College on Saturday.
