MIT became the first team to knockoff the No. 7 Wheaton College Lyons women’s soccer team this season, as the Engineers earned a 2-1 victory in Norton this afternoon, as well as their sixth NEWMAC conference victory.
Leslie Meyer and Michaelann Rodriguez each notched one strike, while Meghan Wright recorded two saves between the pipes.
The loss snapped an eight-game winning streak for the Lyons, as well as a six-game shutout streak, too.
Both teams will return to the pitch on Saturday — MIT will host the United States Coast Guard Academy, while Wheaton will travel to Babson College.
