Mass. College Football: Vandy Defeats UMass, 49-7 (Summary)

The Commodores earned a 21-0 lead at the break and never looked back, as Vanderbilt defeated UMass, 49-7.

UMass’ only touchdown came during the final minutes of the fourth quarter when A.J. Doyle connected with Deion Walker for a 10-yard score.

Vanderbilt finished the game with 443 total yards (217 passing, 226 rushing) and 22 first downs. Both teams were flagged 11 times, as well as combined for five turnovers.

The Commodores improve to 4-4 on the season, while the Minutemen fall to 0-8. UMass will continue its current road trip next Saturday when they travel to Northern Illinois for a 3:30PM kickoff.
