* It’s official - the NBA has cancelled their first two weeks of the season, and it’s possible more games won’t occur this season too.

* For the first time since 1956, the Detroit Lions are 5-0, as they defeated the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, 24-13.

* After Monday’s game against the Lions, ESPNChicago.com’s Michael Wilbon explained in his recent article - the Bears need to get things together before it’s too late.

* According to sources, Houston Texans linebacker Mario Williams is out for the rest of the season after he tore a pectoral muscle against Oakland this past Sunday.

* The St. Louis Cardinals picked up their first win against the Milwaukee Brewers, and tied the National League Championship Series, 1-1.

* Nelson Cruz hit a grand slam in the 11th inning on Monday, and helped the Texas Rangers defeat the Detroit Tigers in Game Two of the American League Championship Series, 7-3.

* According to various reports on Wednesday, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler admitted that he might not be able to finis the season, especially if his offensive line doesn’t protect him. Yet, as of recently, ESPNChicago is reporting that offensive coordinator Mike Martz‘s system would be the downfall for the gunslinger.

* For the second week in a row, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady earned the AFC Player of the Week Award, however, the humbling signal caller told the media that it’s his offense, which has helped him enjoy two weeks of great success.

* According to NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks, he believes that Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has been awesome, yet still has a lot to learn, especially as a rookie this season.

* It’s not certain, but it seems that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick could play against the New York Giants on Sunday. However, does that seem like the right move for the Eagles?

* Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte admitted to the media recently that he thinks his team and organization doesn’t consider him an “elite” player.
