* According to multiple reports – the NBA is close to bringing their lockout to an end, and apparently a new deal is insight.

* On Thursday, the NCAA announced that they’ll pay student athletes $2,000 in the future, but is that a good or bad thing?

* In a recent USA Today article, Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley admitted that he was a “casualty of the NFL lockout.”

* According to ProFootballTalk.com – Randy Moss remains available for various NFL teams.

Game 6 of the World Series was post-poned to Thursday, and now, Texas is a few hours away from having the chance to win their first Fall Classic!

It’s Thursday, which means the weekend is almost here, wahoo! Also – snow in the forecast too? It hasn’t been Halloween! Oh well… here’s the day’s headlines and news, enjoy! 

Headlines: 

* Due to inclement weather on Wednesday, Game 6 of the MLB World Series was pushed to Thursday, which might help the St. Louis Cardinals tie the series against the Texas Rangers, and force a Game 7.

* The NBA Lockout continues, yet some reports have stated that both the players and owners are optimistic that a deal will be done soon, so they can salvage the upcoming season.

* While no NFL team has expressed interest in Terrell Owens‘s services, the Arena Football League has apparently reached out to pro-bowl bound receiver, and has offered him a contract for the 2012 season.

* According to reports, Josh Hamilton became “surely” about his postseason surgery with reporters on Wednesday – this is a good read, I promise!

* Apparently the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in the process of working on quarterback Josh Freeman‘s game, which might help the young 23-year-old for the rest of the season.

* It’s Cowboys-Eagles week in Philadelphia, but quarterback Michael Vick apparently has decided to ignore Rob Ryan‘s “dream team” trash talk.

* It was an ugly Monday Night Football game, but somehow the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Baltimore Ravens, 12-7.

* According to Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, he believes his offense should run the ball more and let Ray Rice be the focal point.

* The Texas Rangers scored two additional runs late in the fifth game of the World Series on Monday, and are now one game away from winning their first ever title.

* Apparently the MLB believes that Frank McCourt looted $189 million from the Los Angles Dodgers.

* Denver Broncos head coach John Fox told the media on Monday that his young quarterback, Tim Tebow is progressing.

* Reports surfaced late Monday night in regards to the NBA – the league has decided to cancel an additional two weeks.

* DeMarco Murray had a career day against the St. Louis Rams, as the rookie running back rushed for 253 yards and one touchdown in Dallas’s third win of the season.

* New York Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress had a big game against the San Diego Chargers, as he caught three touchdown passes from Mark Sanchez, which helped “Gang Green” win their fourth game at home this season.

* Derek Holland and the Texas Rangers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday evening, as well as won Game 4 of the World Series, 4-0.

* San Diego Chargers cornerback Quentin Jammer claimed as of recently that the referees “gave” the New York Jets the game, which is completely untrue, right?

* According to sources, the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs won’t discuss compensation for Theo Epstein until later this week.

* Game 1 of the World Series starts on Wednesday and according to ESPNDallas.com, Chris Carpneter will opposes C.J. Wilson on the mound.

* Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is someone many have questioned this season, but according to one source, they’re comparing him to Antonio Bryant.

* The NBA Lockout might be nearing an end, especially since players and owners met for roughly 16-hours on Tuesday and will resume their talks on Wednesday at 10AM.

* According to ESPNLA.com, Los Angles Lakers guard Shannon Brown has told the media that he’s prepared for “no season.”
