Thoughts on Shaq and Favre

Is Shaq a good signing for the Celtics?

Thoughts on having Shaq sign with the Celtics:

When I heard the news Tuesday that Shaquille O’Neal would possibly be wearing green and white, I wanted to jump out of my skin and burst out into a song and dance!

Having O’Neal on the team would be awesome. He is a valuable veteran that would help the Celtics capture their 18th banner in franchise history and erase the awful memories of their 2010 title run.

Look for O’Neal to come off the bench, play a total of 10-15 minutes and help advance the play of Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins.

Look for Shaq to provide relief on defense, pull down rebounds, swat multiple shot attempts and play extremely aggressive on both ends of the court.

All in all, I would love nothing more to see the big man playing in Boston for the upcoming season.

Will Favre retire or return for his 20th season in the NFL?

Thoughts on Favre wanting to call it quits:

I am so sick and tired of hearing daily new flashes about Brett Favre and what he is planning to have for dinner that evening and the next night. Enough Favre, enough!

This media stunt was okay in 2008, but not cool last summer nor this year too. If Favre wants to continue to hold ESPN and all the sports writers, Vikings fans and the city of Minneapolis in his hands, well go for it. I want nothing of it or participate in the “Bring back Favre” campaign.

He has gone too far this time and now that the media continues to overhype this issue is not only wrong, but also, downright annoying.

Favre, please make up your mind, so the Vikings can focus on the upcoming 2010 season. I am not a fan of your former team, but your behavior is childish and immature.

  1. With Shaq joining the all star crew of Celtics. I wonder how other teams will cope up with this overwhelming roster. Though his injury really made an impact in his career, you still can’t deny the fact that he is a someone to be feared inside the paint.

  2. Nice post bud, definitely worth the read! This I think is a low risk signing for the Celtics considering their window of opportunity right now is very small. This might be the last chance they have, although I guess we thought this last year. But the fact of the matter is that they need a big man now that Kendrick Perkins is going to be out for so long and there aren’t very many quality ones out there. Shaq can be good but at this point in his career he just can’t get too many touches. All in all I think it is a shrewd signing but I guess we’ll find out this season. In didn’t work in Cleveland but who knows. Also, you think you could check out my blog cuz I really would love to hear your thoughts.
