Daily Noontime – October 12, 2010

It is officially a Tuesday here at Noontime Sports, which means the week has begun and we are close to “hump day,” also known as Wednesday. Anyways, here is our Daily Noontime for Tuesday October 12, 2010.

Headlines:

* The New England Patriots have reacquired wide receiver Deion Branch now that Randy Moss is back with the Minnesota Vikings.

* The New York Jets earned their fourth victory of the 2010 season on Monday, when they defeated Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings.

* Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox and his team were officially eliminated from the 2010 MLB playoffs on Monday. The San Francisco Giants now return to the NLCS for the first time in eight seasons.

* The University of North Carolina football team will be without Marvin Austin for the rest of the season, while two other teammates will remain ineligible.

* Allen Iverson maybe returning to the hardwood, but not with an NBA team. He is most likely to sign a contract with a Turkish club.

* Brett Favre admitted to his teammates prior to Monday’s game that he was sorry for being a distraction over the past few days.

* San Francisco 49ers team president Jed York is still confident that his team will win the NFC West, despite their [0-5] start.
