Headlines:

* The Texas Rangers are officially on their way to the American League Championship Series and will face the New York Yankees. This marks the first time in MLB history that the Rangers have finally won a playoff series.

* Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips is not in trouble nor on the way out. Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said the coach is safe.

* Peyton Manning maybe getting a new contract soon, but a lot depends on the NFL labor agreements.

* LeBron James left an exhibition basketball game with cramps, but his Miami Heat were still able to pull away with a victory.

* Fredi Gonzalez will be named the Atlanta Braves in 2011.

* Chis Bosh reflects on meeting president Barack Obama and apparently wasn’t nervous too.

* Did your colleges mascot make the “Mascot Power Rankings?” Check it out HERE.
