Harvard Can Only Wait, but Penn can force a One-Game Playoff

Harvard University Men’s basketball team only has to wait a few more hours on Tuesday to learn their NCAA fate, as a Penn win against Princeton would give the Crimson their first Ivy League basketball title in school history.

If the Tigers are able to earn a win against the Quakers, it would then set up a one-game playoff between Harvard and Princeton to decide the conference title. The possible game is already scheduled to occur on Saturday March 12, 2011, at 4:00pm eastern at Yale University.

The Crimson have only appeared once in the NCAA tournament, which was during the 1945-46 season and are the only Ivy League school that has not won a league title since the conference was formed in 1956-1957.
