* It’s official, Ty Law wants to retire with the New England Patriots. He’ll most likely sign a one-day deal and then call it quits.

* The NBA players and owners continue to meet to discuss logistics, as they hope to have a new CBA (collective bargaining agreement) deal in place before Thursday.

* Apparently, some NFL writers and reporters believe the league would be just fine without Terrell Owens.

* Team USA kicked off the 2011 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday with an impressive win against North Korea.
