Wakefield Earns 200th Career Win

By NoontimeSports.com

Congrats to Boston Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield, who finally earned his 200th career victory and yep, I think it’s fair to say that this was a burden lifted from those broad shoulders.

Wakefield deserved this moment, especially since he’s been nothing, but a batting practice pitcher for the past few weeks and months, but finally, he can sit back, relax and take a deep breath because he’s now the second oldest pitcher to reach the 200th win plateau.

Wakefield pitched six innings on Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays, as well as allowed six hits, five runs, and two home runs, but managed to strike out six batters for his seventh win of the season.
