Now that the NBA Lockout is officially history, it’s time to list 10 games to watch this season for the Boston Celtics.
However, while we did provide a top-10 list earlier this year, we’ve decided to revamp it, and unleash our newest edition.
Here are the games I, (Matt Noonan) am very excited to watch, and hopefully you are too.
December 25, 2011 — Boston at New York: To commence the end of the NBA Lockout, the league has decided to kick-start their 66-game schedule with rematch of last year’s first round series between Boston and New York. However, who’ll be more motivated for this one — Rajon Rondo or Spike Lee?
December 27, 2011 — Boston at Miami: After the Celtics tangle with the Knicks, they’ll advance to Miami two days later for their first of four meetings, and certainly, it’ll be interesting to see how the defending Eastern Conference Champions play against the men dressed in green and white. Perhaps, they’ll still be distraught from losing the NBA Championship?
December 30, 2011 — Detroit at Boston: After spending a few days on the road, the Celtics will return to the TD Garden for their home opener, and who knows, maybe they’ll be undefeated or winless. Yet, either way, I am sure numerous Bostonians will be happy to see their favorite basketball team play against the Pistons, right?
January 11, 2012 — Dallas at Boston: The Champions are coming; the champions are coming, wahoo! Sorry, but I felt it was necessary to change Paul Revere’s words, so we can welcome the defending NBA Champions to the TD Garden.
January 23, 2012 — Orlando at Boston: January should be the Celtics month, especially since they have 11 home games and 5 road contests. One of those various home affairs is against Orlando, and it’s possible that Dwight Howard might not be sporting a Magic uniform on this particular date, especially if he’s traded to Los Angles prior to the start of the season.
February 9, 2012 — Los Angles Lakers at Boston: When was the last time the Lakers came to Boston on a Thursday? It always seems that the NBA schedules Boston-Los Angles games for Thursday’s, but either way, the legendary rivalry between the Celtics and Lakers will occur on this date, and you can bet it’ll be a fun one.
February 22, 2012 — Boston at Oklahoma City: Five of the last six games in February will be on the road, and certainly, this could be one of those games that doesn’t go the Celtics way.
March 11, 2012 — Boston at Los Angles Lakers: The Celtics will kick-off an eight game road trip against the Lakers, and certainly a win could go a long way for an aging club.
April 24, 2012 — Miami at Boston: The great LeBron James returns to the TD Garden for the second to last game of the season, but could this be the first of many trips for him and the Heat after this game concludes? We’ll see!
