On Monday, the NEWMAC, (New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference) announced their Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, and MIT’s senior guard Jamie Karraker was chosen as the recipient.
According to the press release on MIT’s Athletic website, it stated that this is the first time in his four-year career that he’s been tabbed for this award, while teammate and senior forward Noel Hollingsworth has received the honor twice this season.
MIT won three contests during the past week, and Karraker was a major benefactor, as he set a new program record with 9 three-pointers on Tuesday against UMass-Boston, as well as established a career high with 28 points on Thursday against Salem State.
The Engineers are currently [11-0], and will look to keep their winning ways going on Wednesday when they host Wheelock College. MIT has never started a season with 12 consecutive wins, so a victory against the Wildcats would set a school record.
