Good Friday morning to all, and welcome into another stupendous edition of the Daily Noontime!

Here’s some of the latest news, and headlines from the city of Boston, as well as six states of New England, enjoy.

* On Thursday evening, sources confirmed that New England Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien accepted the head coaching position with Penn State. However, ESPNBoston.com provided a rather intriguing blog on Friday morning that stated six “thoughts” on him accepting the position, as well as how it could effect the Patriots next week during the AFC Divisional round.

* The Boston Bruins returned to the Garden, hosted the Calgary, and manhandled the Flames, as the Black and Gold tallied nine goals in three periods. Patrice Bergeron and Nathan Horton lit the lamp twice, while Tuukka Rask recorded his third shutout of the season. Boston will return to the ice on Saturday afternoon when they welcome the Vancouver Canucks for a 2:00pm face-off.

* University of Massachusetts’s (Amherst) men’s basketball defeated Fordham University, 80-76, and University of Vermont beat Boston University, 83-69.

* The Boston Celtics will return to the parquet on Friday evening when they host the Indiana Pacers. The Green and White are currently on a four-game winning streak, and are hopeful that Ray Allen will be in the lineup, too.
