* The Boston Celtics overcame a 21-point halftime deficit to defeat the Orlando Magic, 91-83 in Florida on Thursday. Paul Pierce tallied a team-high 24 points, while E’Twaun Moore recorded 16 points off the bench. Also, Boston held Orlando to just eight points during the final frame.
* The Celtics have now won three consecutive contests, and will look to earn their ninth overall win on Friday when they welcome the Indiana Pacers to the TD Garden for a 7:30pm tip.
* The Boston Red Sox officially announced the signing of outfielder Cody Ross on Thursday, and according to sources, he signed a one-year deal with $3 million.
* According to the USA Today – New England Patriots nose tackle Vince Wilfork expressed to the media recently that he’s going to give his best effort against the New York Giants next weekend in Super Bowl XLVI, as well as dedicate his play to his parents. Wilfork’s parents both past away when he was a college star at the University of Miami, and certainly, he’s going to be thinking of them during the entire game.
