VIDEO: Paul Pierce Passes Larry Bird As Second All-Time Scorer

In case you didn’t know, Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce became the team’s second all-time leading scorer on Tuesday when he sank a three-pointer in the third quarter, which launched him past Larry Bird in the franchise standings. Pierce has now recorded 21,797 points in a Celtics uniform, and is 4, 598 points away from tying John Havlicek, who is the sole leader with 26,395 points.

Robert Parish is the team’s fourth leading scorer with 18,245, while Kevin McHale ranks fifth all-time with 17,335.

  1. I feel like I constantly struggle to identify Pierce’s place in history. Is he a Hall of Famer? He has always been a great scorer and the years with Garnett and Allen have made him better. I feel like Garnett is the heart and soul of the team these past couple of years, and he has made Pierce better and not necessarily vice versa.
