It’s Thursday, which means it’s time to unveil this week’s Lacrosse Notebook!

* The Wheaton College women’s lacrosse team has been one of the bigger surprises this season. Senior attack Hailey Colburn has been a major contributor for the Lyons, and has recorded 48 goals and 22 assists in 10 games. Coburn is on par to pass her career totals – her best season with the Lyons was in 2010 – she recorded 52 goals and 26 assists.

* Wheaton College’s women’s lacrosse team has won four of their last five contests, and will attempt to earn their eighth win of the season on Thursday when they travel to Gordon College for a 7:00pm face-off.

* Merrimack College’s men’s lacrosse team hasn’t lost a game all season. The Warriors registered their seventh consecutive victory on Wednesday, as they defeated Saint Michaels, 10-9. Junior Corey Lunney leads the team with 27 points, (22 goals, five assists), while junior and Billerica native Greg Melaugh has recorded 25 points, (16 points, nine assists) thus far.

* The Stonehill College women’s lacrosse team has won seven of their last eight matches, which includes wins against Saint Anselm, Southern Conn., University of New Haven and Bentley University. Junior Kayla Green leads the Skyhawks with 39 points, (27 goals, 12 assists), while junior and Andover native Heather Sullivan has tallied 38 points, (34 goals, four assists).

* According to the recent polls, UMass remains the second best men’s lacrosse team in the nation. The Minutemen haven’t lost a single contest this season, and recently picked up their ninth consecutive victory against Saint Joseph’s on Mar. 31.

* Despite earning two critical road victories against Curry College and Springfield College, Endicott College’s men’s lacrosse team recently fell to non-conference foe Wesleyan on Mar. 31, 11-4. The Gulls are currently 5-4, and 3-0 in the conference.
