Mass. College Hoops: WACBA Players Of The Week

With one week of the college basketball season in the books, here is this week’s WACBA Players of the Week.

Alex Smith (Holy Cross) – Within the past week, Smith has averaged 16.0 points per game, 4.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 34 minutes. The junior sank 8-of-22 shots from beyond the arc, too. According to the sports information department, she’s second in the Patriot League in points per game, and first in assists. Also, she’s registered 15 points or more in every game this season.

Marco Coppola (WPI) – After a very successful campaign with the Engineers last year, the sophomore from Watertown began his second season with a career-high 33 points in WPI’s first win against Castleton State. He also scored a game-best 23 points against Keene State on Saturday.
