BURRILLVILLE, R.I – After a disappointing loss yesterday in the semi-finals, Nichols College rebounded in the second day of the Worcester City Shootout Tournament consolation game with two strikes to earn a 2-0 lead after one period.
Tyler Beasley got the Bison on the board at 6:54 following a pass from behind the Assumption College cage from Mike Schwartz, which gave Nichols their first lead of the afternoon.
Danny Greiner doubled the Bison’s advantage with a power play goal at 18:27, which was set up by Paul Prescott and Schwartz.
Nichols finished the period with 11 shots on net and 16 faceoff victories. Assumption College had six shots, and goaltender Bobby Bowden turned away nine shots.
