Mass. College Sports: Teams Of The Week (Jan. 6-13)

By NoontimeSports.com

We mentioned it on Twitter and now it is time to unveil our teams of the week from January 6-13:

Men’s Basketball

WPI – Chris Bartley’s crew used a second half surge to run past the Wheaton College on Saturday to pick up their third conference victory of the season. They’re 16-0 overall, 3-0 in the NEWMAC. The Engineers will return home to face Clark University on Wednesday and MIT on Saturday.

Women’s Basketball

Bentley University – Can anyone stop the Falcons? Seriously, can anyone? After defeating Pace on Saturday, the Falcons extended their unbeaten streak against East Region opponents to 26 and preserved their perfect mark, too. Bentley has yet to lose a game this season and will return to the hardwood tomorrow evening when they host American International.

Men’s Ice Hockey

Babson College – The Beavers made some serious noise this past weekend with a victory against the former number one team in the land, as they defeated Norwich University, 4-1. Babson has won five of their last six and will welcome Williams College to their home ice tomorrow evening for a critical non-conference tilt.

Women’s Ice Hockey

Boston College – The No. 3 Eagles tallied 17 goals in their last three games against Cornell University, Northeastern University and Vermont. Alex Carpenter recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) with 14 shots on goal. Against the Catamounts, she recorded two goals and two assists.
