Mass. College Hoops: Div. I Notes For Wednesday’s Games

Here are a few quick notes on the of the Division I basketball games, which will be played this evening:

* Boston College will look to rebound following their loss last weekend against Wake Forrest with a victory against Miami. The Eagles are 1-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and currently remain in fourth place.

* Boston University’s women’s basketball team will look to extend its current winning streak to 12 games when they visit Maine for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. The Black Bears have won 40 of the 71 meetings between these two squads, while the Terriers have dominated their opponent by winning 10 of the last 11 meetings. BU is currently 14-3 overall and 4-0 in American East play.

* The Holy Cross men’s basketball team will look to return to the win column when they travel to Navy for a 7:00 p.m. tip. The Crusaders are coming off their first conference loss of the season, and will certainly rely on David Dudzinski and Justin Burrell for points.

* Northeastern University’s men’s basketball team will look to earn its fifth conference win when they welcome Hofstra University to Boston. The Huskies have won four consecutive contests, and a major reason has been the production of Joel Smith, who is averaging 16.2 points per game.
