Two local squads competed in their conference’s championship this afternoon and below are the summaries.
Wentworth 3, Salve Regina 1 – Mike Domsodi assisted on two of three goals, while Sean McLaughlin and Cameron Gibson each found the back of the Salve Regina net in the third, which helped Wentworth claim the ECAC Northeast crown. With the win, the Leopards earned an automatic bid for the upcoming NCAA Division III tournament.
Bowdoin College 2, Williams College 1 – Trailing the Polar Bears by two tallies once the third period commenced, Williams’ Evan Dugdale sliced the deficit in half with a strike at 1:14. The Ephs, though, never found the equalizer as the Polar Bears earned the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) crown, along with an automatic bid for the upcoming tournament. Williams concluded their season with a 17-7-3 mark.
