The first day of the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball East Region quarterfinals are in the books and below are the game summaries.

Stonehill College 78, Franklin Pierce 66 – Trailing the Ravens by eight at the break, the Skyhawks rallied by scoring 51 second half points to earn a first round victory. Mary Louise Dixon netted a game-best 32 points, as well as pulled down 12 boards. Asia Ewing added 19 points, while Abbey Lalime registered nine points off the bench. Stonehill will return to the hardwood tomorrow for a 5:00 p.m. tip-off against Dowling, who defeated NYIT.

Bentley University 68, LIU Post 57 – Lauren Battista netted a game-high 27 points, Jacqui Brugliera added 10 points as the Falcons defeated the Pioneers. With the win Bentley will face Holy Family following Dowling-Stonehill at 7:30 p.m.

Holy Family 68, Assumption College 62 – Katy Howard netted a team-best 17 points, Gabrielle Gibson registered 12 points, but that wasn’t enough to help the Hounds defeat the Tigers. Assumption concludes its season with a 22-7 mark.
