Mass. College Football: Nichols’ Rimsky Named NEFC Offensive Player of the Week
Courtesy of the Nichols College sports information department, here’s today’s release about senior captain Dylan Rimsky, who was named this week’s New England Football Conference (NEFC) Offensive Player of the Week:
DUDLEY, Mass. – Senior captain Dylan Rimsky (Denville, N.J.) has been named New England Football Conference (NEFC) Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Rimsky established Nichols single-game records for receptions (14) and receiving yards (290) in the Bison’s 28-27 overtime win against Westfield State Friday night at Vendetti Field. Rimsky hauled in a 63-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter, then caught a 32-yard pass in overtime to put the Bison in front for good. The win snapped a seven-game losing streak to Westfield State and also gave the Bison their first win in a season opener since 2007.
“I am very proud of Dylan. What a great way to start off his senior season!” Nichols head coach Kevin Loney. “He has a tremendous work-ethic, and it showed on Friday. He’s been overshadowed here for a few years, but I guess that’s over now. I look forward to seeing what he has in store in the future.”
Rimsky was named to the NEFC Honor Roll last October after catching eight passes for 155 yards and a touchdown at Plymouth State.
The Bison return to action on Friday when they host Western Connecticut State at Vendett Field at 7 p.m.
