Mass. College Football: Assumption-New Haven Kickoff Week 6

The first weekend of October marks the sixth week of the college football season and below is a quick look at tonight’s only game.

* New Haven at Assumption, 7 p.m.

Quick Observation: The Hounds are coming off an impressive come-from-behind win against AIC last Friday, while the Chargers are on a three-game winning streak. Quarterback Ronnie Nelson (New Haven) ranks third in the Northeast-10 Conference in touchdown passes (11), while Assumption’s Matt Pedone is third in yards per game (94.0).

Defensively, New Haven leads all defenses with 12 sacks, which is six more than Assumption. The Chargers have also yielded an average of 23.5 points per game, which is second in the conference behind Bentley. Both teams are tied for third in interceptions with five.
