Mass. College Hoops: Late Afternoon Roundup

Below are the results of this afternoon’s late contests, which happened to be all men’s basketball games.
No. 22 UMass 80, N. Illinois 54: The Minutemen extended its current winning streak to nine games, as Cady Lalanne scored a game-best 17 points, while Chaz Williams and Maxie Esho each registered 12 points.
Merrimack 78, So. New Hampshire 73: Gelvis Solano poured in a game-high 35 points, while Kevin Regan recorded a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds as the Warriors defeat the Penmen in New Hampshire.
Saint Rose 78, AIC 74 (OT): Bobby Harris netted a team-best 21 points, but that wasn’t enough to lift the Yellow Jackets past Saint Rose.
Salem State 70, Southern Maine 63: Andrew White registered a double-double of 11 points and 15 boards as the Vikings topped Southern Maine in Salem. Bryan Ortiz led the Vikings with 13 points.
Gordon 76, Lesley 68: Park Thomas led the Fighting Scots with 18 points –10 coming from the strip — as Gordon picked up its third win of the season. Trevonn Lewis led Lesley and all scorers with 21 points.
Rhode Island College 76, UMass Boston 50: Carl Joseph netted 24 points, but that wasn’t enough to lift the Beacons past RIC.
