According to a few reports this morning, including the Boston Globe, Boston College and Notre Dame could play their next football game at Fenway Park in 2015.
As noted in this morning’s report on ESPN.com, “The talks between the schools and the Fenway Sports Group have been ongoing for a few years, The Globe reported.”
Fenway Park has never hosted a major college football game, so this would be the park’s first. The home of the Red Sox, though, has hosted New England Patriots games, the NHL Winter Classic and college hockey contests.
Notre Dame currently leads the all-time series, 13-9. The first meeting between these two schools occurred in 1975 with the Irish prevailing, 17-3. According to College Football Reference, that first meeting was held in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
