WALTHAM, Mass. – After seeing their four-game winning streak snapped last weekend, the Bentley Falcons responded Wednesday night with a total team effort.
Bentley dominated the visitors from Adelphi, 75-51, in a Northeast-10 clash at the Dana Center.
“Tonight we played a team that doesn’t score it great, but they really fight you hard and defend,” said Bentley head coach Jay Lawson.
Bentley’s Tyler McFarland led all scorers with 19 points, while Alex Furness added 13, and Shaq Phelps scored 12 coming off the bench.
The Falcons led the Panthers by 12 at halftime. Midway thru the second half, the lead got as high as 33. A few minutes later, Bentley’s starters were out of the game.
Bentley improved to 6-4 in the conference and 11-4 overall. The Falcons are in the middle of the pack in the Northeast Division.
“There are about five or six teams that we’re right there with, but maybe not quite ready to totally challenge,” said Lawson.
For the Panthers, Duane Morgan and Anthony Libroia each had 13 points. But Bentley held Adelphi to just 31% shooting for the game.
The Falcons travel to American International on Saturday.
