Mass. College Hoops: NE-10 Men’s First-Round Roundup

The Northeast-10 Conference commenced its 2014 men’s and women’s basketball tournaments this evening and below are the local scores and summaries.
Men’s Basketball:
So. NH 68, AIC 53: Trailing 25-20 at the break, the Penmen rallied by outscoring the Yellow Jackets, 48-28, en route to a 13-point first-round victory. With the win, Southern New Hampshire will travel to Southern Connecticut State University on Sunday, March 2 for a 3 p.m. tip-off. AIC was led by Spencer Braithwaite, who finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. Jason Perrier and Janek Schmidkunz each recorded 12 points, respectively.
Bentley 93, Saint Rose 79: Keegan Hyland poured in a game-best 25 points, while Andrew Shaw added 24 points as the Falcons soared past the Golden Knights. Bentley will return to the hardwood on Sunday, as they travel to New Hampshire to take on St. A’s, tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
