NEWTON, Mass. – David Deschenes registered six points on three goals and three assists, including the game-winning strike with 13.5 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter as the Becker College men’s lacrosse team defeated Lasell College, 12-11, on Friday afternoon in the GNAC semifinals.
With the win, the Hawks advance to Sunday’s (Apr. 27) conference championship game and will face-off against Emmanuel College, which defeated Norwich University, 11-2.
Deschenes game-winning tally came after a two-goal rally by Lasell that evened the score at 11-11 with 52 seconds remaining. Becker worked the ball around the offensive zone before the junior whipped a shot past David Walen to seal the win.
Becker’s Daniel Johnson finished with five goals, while Jeffrey Candee turned away 12 of 23 shots.
Andrew Suh paced the Lasers with four markers and Josh Gallant recorded three points on two tallies and one helper.
