Bentley University senior T.A. Demoulas was recently drafted by the Boston Cannons – a member of the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) – on Friday evening in the league’s collegiate draft.

Below is the release from the Bentley University Sports Information Office:

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley men’s lacrosse senior midfielder T.A. Demoulas (Lowell, Mass./Middlesex School) was drafted by the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse in its collegiate draft on Friday night.

Demoulas was picked in the 8th round by the Cannons and was one of just three players from a non-Division I program selected.

“The Cannons organization likes his athleticism, character and leadership that he brings to the field as a defensive midfielder,” said Bentley head coach Jim Murphy, who is also an assistant coach for the Cannons.

A team captain for the Falcons last season, Demoulas started 14 games and led the team in ground balls (58). He was also second in caused turnovers (15), and was named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association’s Division II All-New England team.

Bentley will open its 2015 season on Feb. 28 with a home game against New York Tech.
