Mass. College Hockey: Stonehill Clinches Share Of NE-10 Crown

With a 2-1 win over Franklin Pierce this evening, the Stonehill College men’s ice hockey team clinched a share of the Regular Season Northeast-10 Conference Championship for the second straight season.

Stonehill, which will enter next weekend’s conference tournament as either the first or second seed, will host a semifinal contest.

Anthony D’Elia and Thomas Jenkins each netted one goal – both coming in the second period – and goaltender Chris Tasiopoulos turned away 29 shots, including 11 shots in the second period and 10 in the third.

With the win, Stonehill improves to 13-5-4 and 7-0-2 in conference play. They’ll return to the ice on Saturday when they travel to Assumption College for a 4:35 p.m. face-off.
