Saturday’s America East Conference men’s lacrosse championship will have a New England feel to it as the University of Hartford will take on University of Vermont in Albany, New York with face-off set for 10 a.m.
The Catamounts overcame a two-goal deficit at the break to defeat Stony Brook, while Justin Huggins netted the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Hawks past the Great Danes. Huggins concluded the contest with a career-high five goals.
Tomorrow’s championship will be Hartford’s most recent appearance in the conference final – the Hawks captured the AE crown in 2011 when they defeated Stony Brook, 11-10.
Vermont’s win over Stony Brook was their first in program history, while the victory provided the unit with their initial conference tournament victory. Saturday’s final will be the Catamounts first appearance, too.
