WORCESTER, Mass. – For the third-straight week, the Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) is proud to unveil its women’s basketball honor roll, including our players and rookie of the week.

Women’s Player of the Week: Taylor Daniels (Nichols | Sr. | Dudley, Mass.): Daniels averaged 18.0 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, 2.0 assists per game, and 10 steals per game in two contests for the Bison last week. She poured in a game-high 22 points (6-for-6 at the charity stripe) against Roger Williams on Wednesday before netting 14 points in a win over Wentworth on Saturday. Daniels – who leads the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) in scoring at 19.6 ppg – canned 58 percent of her three-point attempts (7-of-12) and was 7-of-8 from the line (88 percent).

Ama Biney (WPI | Jr. | Worcester, Mass.) Biney averaged 20 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and two steals in a 2-0 week for the Engineers. She was all over the court to deliver her first double-double (20 points and 10 rebounds) on 10-of-12 shooting with five assists and three blocks in 29 minutes at Wellesley. Biney followed it up with 18 points, seven boards and three steals in 30 minutes at Wheaton.

Women’s Rookie of the Week: Emma Thomson (Fitchburg State | Fr. | York, Maine): Thomson averaged 18.0 points, 3.5 boards, 1.0 assist, 2.0 steals and 1.0 block per contest in a 2-0 week for the Falcons. She collected a game-best 33 points on 11-of-16 shooting from three point range as well as five caroms, one assist and three steals in an 80-62 win over Curry on Tuesday before adding three points, two rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in a 71-61 victory against Curry on Thursday.

Women’s Honor Roll:

Ciara McKissick (Becker | Soph. | Charlton, Mass.): McKissick has been a force inside this past week, averaging 13 rebounds and 8.6 points to lead Becker to their first 3-0 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) start in program’s history. The first place Hawks recorded wins over Wheelock, Southern Vermont and Newbury this past week.

Cassidy Harrison (Becker | Fr. | Foxborough, Mass.): Last week’s WACBA Rookie of the Week had another impressive week, averaging 16.3 points per game to lead Becker to their first 3-0 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) start in the program’s history. Harrison also averaged 3.6 rebounds and 2.0 steals per contest too. The first place Hawks recorded wins over Wheelock, Southern Vermont and Newbury. Facing the Nighthawks on Saturday, Harrison scored 20 points as the Hawks pulled away late, 59-50.

Katelynn Rizzuto (Fitchburg State | Soph. | West Boylston, Mass.): Rizzuto averaged a double-double of 15.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game as well as 3.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game in a 2-0 week for the Falcons. Registered eight points, eight boards, five assists and two steals in an 80-62 win over Anna Maria on Tuesday before adding a double-double of 23 points and 14 boards to go along with two assists, three steals and three blocks in a 71-61 victory over Curry on Thursday.

Kaitlyn Berkel (Worcester State | Soph. | Waterford, Conn.): The sophomore forward averaged 9.3 points and 5.7 rebounds in a 0-3 week for the Lancers. Berkel scored a season-high 15 points while shooting 60 percent from the field, and grabbed five rebounds on Saturday, in turn, earning a spot on the Wesleyan Tournament All-Tournament team. She scored seven points for the Lancers last Friday, and then six points in the setback to Connecticut College.
