#FootballFriday: Recapping Our Weekly Poll (Week One Games to Watch!)
By NoontimeSports.com (@NoontimeSports)
Happy Friday, Noontime Sports Fans! And a happy (first-ever) Football Friday to you all, too.
In honor of the upcoming football season – professional, college and high school – Noontime Sports will get you set for a weekend of football (or no football, in this case!) with a blog post and podcast on some news and notes from the New England football world.
This week, our initial ‘news and notes’ post revolves around our Twitter poll from earlier this week, which asked you, the fans, the following question: What week one D3 Football game are you most excited for?
The four options were the following:
- Castleton at Plymouth State
- Framingham State at Endicott
- Union at Husson
- Springfield at Western New England
Here are the results from our blog’s Twitter handle (@NoontimeSports) poll:

So, as you can see from our poll (ABOVE!), fans are quite excited for the Castleton-Plymouth State game, which will take place this season in New Hampshire. The game is scheduled to commence at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2.
Last year, the Panthers defeated the Spartans for the first time since September 2010. It was also the Green and White’s initial opening day win since September 2011.
Quarterback Zach Edwards highlighted his team’s opening day outing, tossing one touchdown, while concluding the game with 157 passing yards. Blair Zentek recorded a pair of interceptions in the win. Plymouth State overcame a one-point (7-6) deficit at the break en route to their fist of six wins last season.
Prior to last season’s opening victory, Castleton had defeated Plymouth State in its 2015 season-opener, 21-10.
We will certainly have more on both teams closer to the start of the 2017 season, along with more polls on Twitter, too.
