Framingham State commenced its 2017 campaign with a 41-10 victory this afternoon against Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts.
Quarterbacks Adam Wojenski and Zakery Walker combined for three touchdown passes, including a pair of strikes to Michael Calicchio, who concluded the game with five receptions for 101 yards. Quron Wright rushed for 169 yards and one score on 22 carries, while the Rams’ defense tallied one interception and one sack.
Lavante Wiggins recorded Endicott’s lone touchdown in the opening minute of the fourth quarter when he capped a seven-play, 75 yard drive with a two-yard burst up the middle.
Endicott’s John Glaser booted a 34-yard field goal to provide the hosts with an early lead before Framingham State responded with 20 points in the second quarter to secure the lead for good. The Rams led 34-3 after three frames, but added one more score halfway through the fourth quarter when Rufus Rushins capped a 12-play, 66 yard drive with a three-yard touchdown up the middle.
Both teams return to action next week with Framingham State hosting Cortland next Saturday, September 9 at 12 p.m., while Endicott will visit Bridgewater State at 12 p.m.
