In case you missed it, Western New England senior quarterback Anthony Service became the Golden Bears’ all-time leader in touchdown passes yesterday by tossing a pair of scores in a 45-0 win over Becker College.

The win over the Hawks bumped WNE’s overall record to 5-2 overall – it was also the team’s second-straight Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC) win, too.

Service completed 11 of 21 passes against the Hawks for 205 yards. His first passing touchdown landed in the hands of Jared Wolfe, which provided the Golden Bears with a 7-0 advantage.

His second touchdown pass came early in the second when he connected with Mark Dietrich for a 58-yard strike. The touchdown pushed the Golden Bears ahead, 14-0, with 11:10 remaining in the first half.

In addition to his arm, Service registered 48 rushing yards on nine carries. Alec Coleman led the Golden Bears’ rushing attack with 88 yards on four carries and one score.

WNE is back in action this Saturday, October 28 when they host Salve Regina at 1 p.m. The Seahawks enter the contest 2-0 in conference play after defeating both Endicott and Nichols College.
