After completing its 2017-18 campaign without a single blemish, the Amherst College women’s basketball team secured the top spot in the upcoming New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Tournament, which tips-off next Saturday, February 17th with a quartet of quarterfinal contests.

The Mammoths will entertain eighth seed Trinity College, which earned the final spot in this year’s tournament thanks to a victory earlier this season over Colby College. Both the Bantams and Mules finished with identical 3-7 league records, but the win by Trinity secured them a trip to the postseason for the first time in three seasons.

Second seed Bowdoin will host seventh seed Williams College on Saturday, while sixth seed Connecticut College will head to third seed Tufts University. Fourth seed Middlebury College will host fifth  seed Wesleyan University.

Following next Saturday’s quarterfinal match-ups, the tournament will shift to the highest remaining seed, which will be the host for both the semifinals and finals (Feb. 24-25th).
