Saturday was an exciting day for the UMass Dartmouth women’s basketball program, specifically senior Alicia Kutil, who became the squad’s all-time leading scorer during her team’s 78-62 win over Eastern Connecticut.
Kutil concluded yesterday’s contest with 25 points, connecting on 11 of 20 attempts from the field, including two of three trifectas to pass Cathy Johnson for the top spot in the program’s record book. Johnson, who graduated from UMass Dartmouth in 1986, concluded her career with 1,323 points.
The Franklin, Massachusetts native has tallied 1,324 points in her four seasons with the Corsairs, averaging 12.3 points per season. This season, Kutil has netted a career-best 458 points in 23 games.
With yesterday’s win, UMass Dartmouth has secured the top spot in the upcoming Little East Conference (LEC) Tournament.
