Another weekend of New England Division III hockey is upon us with a slew of action-packed games to watch or follow.

Four of the seven conferences in the six-state region are on display this weekend, including a few rematches from the 2017-18 postseasons. In total, there will be 38 games to follow in our area, including 10 contests that I have highlighted below.

My predications were a lackluster 5-5 for the opening weekend, but the show must go on, so without further ado, here are my 10 Games to Watch (and predications) for the second weekend of the season.

BABSON over New England College (November 2 at 7:00 P.M.): I predicted against both of these teams last week, but now they both sit at 1-0 after earning hard fought wins, respectively. This one should be a great contest to watch, but I’ll give Babson the edge in their home-opener.

SALVE REGINA over University of New England (November 2 at 7:05 P.M.): It is pretty amazing to see how far these programs have come since their first meeting in 2009. The Seahawks are looking to extend a 4-2 hold on the series, which includes three consecutive victories. Expect plenty of goals in this home-and-home series.

NICHOLS over Wentworth (November 2 at 6:40 P.M.): Nichols was idle last weekend, but you can bet they were itching to get onto the ice after being bounced in the NCAA quarterfinal last march. The Bison have been in control of this particular series with a 14-3 advantage in goals and a 3-0-1 mark since 2016.

Curry over BECKER (November 2 at 7:00 P.M.): The Colonels began their season by winning the Buffalo State Tournament last week. On the other side, the Hawks struggled in their first two games, but will attempt to rebound when they entertain Curry this evening. Expect the Colonels to continue their recent momentum in this home-and-home series.

Suffolk University over SALEM STATE (November 3 at 2:00 P.M.): Salem State and Suffolk have skated to ties in their most recent outings, but one should expect these Rams to pull out a much-needed victory on the road, which should provide the squad with a boost heading into their upcoming New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) contests.

Morrisville State over NICHOLS (November 2 at 3:40 P.M.): The last time these two teams met was in the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) semifinals nine months ago with the Mustangs skating to a 6-0 (they would go onto beat Endicott in the championship). Morrisville State enters the early season clash 5-0 in the all-time series.

Suffolk over ANNA MARIA (November 2 at 7:00 P.M.): The Suffolk women’s hockey team endured a pair of tough setbacks one week ago to Nichols, but this young Rams squad should be able to erase those memories by earning the program’s first win against the AMCATs.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND over Becker (November 2 at 7:00 P.M.): The Nor’easters hold a 5-0 edge over Becker in the all-time series, but this year’s meeting will have a different feel with both teams competing in the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC).

No. 2 Norwich over PLYMOUTH STATE (November 3 at 2:00 P.M.): The Cadets, who also play Friday against New England College, will be looking to bounce back from a 4-2 loss to Elmira last weekend in a conference semifinal rematch from earlier this year.

Salem State over NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE (November 3 at 4:00 P.M.): The Vikings and Pilgrims will be meeting for the third time in each program’s respective history with New England College scoring wins against the Orange and Blue in their first two outings. I feel a momentum swing coming for these Vikings on Saturday.
