WORCESTER – With another week of Worcester basketball in the books, it’s now time to unveil our latest Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) Women’s Basketball Honor Roll, which includes women’s player and rookie of the week.

Women’s Basketball Player of the Week: Adrianna Dowdy (Becker College| Sr. | East Haven, Conn.): Dowdy posted one of the most dominant weeks of her storied career this past week, leading the Hawks to a 3-0 week. The senior team captain averaged 17.3 points, 13.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game, while shooting 63.6 percent from the floor. Against Southern Vermont last Tuesday, Dowdy scored 21 points with 16 rebounds in a 55-45 victory. Then, against Mitchell College, in a battle for first place in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), Dowdy scored 14 points while pulling down nine boards in a 63-49 win. Finally, on Saturday against Mitchell College, Dowdy posted another double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds in a 72-58 win.
Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week: Emily Sifferlen (Clark University| Fr.| North Andover, Mass.): Sifferlen came off the bench and scored a team-high 23 points in a setback last week to Coast Guard Academy before adding a game-high 19 points on Saturday at home against MIT. Sifferlen was 7-for-15 from the field, including a 3-for-9 effort from behind the arc against Coast Guard. She was 6-for-11 and a near perfect 4-for-5 from three-point range at home on Saturday against the Engineers.
Lauren Manis (Holy Cross| Jr.|Franklin, Mass.): Manis posted a convincing double-double against Boston University last Saturday to give the Crusaders a Turnpike Trophy victory over the Terriers with 20 points, 11 rebounds and two assists. In a loss to Navy last Wednesday, she led the Crusaders with 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
Angelina Marazzi (Fitchburg St. | Jr. | Manchester, N.H.): Marazzi averaged 17.5 points, two rebounds, three assists and 1.5 steals per contest in two games for the Green and Gold. The junior registered a game-best 22 points, two rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in a 73-64 triumph against MCLA on Wednesday before adding 13 points, two boards, three assists and one steal in a setback to Worcester State on Saturday.
Catherine Sweeney (Worcester State | Jr. | Lowell, Mass.): Sweeney averaged 9.3 points, 6.0 points, and 5.0 rebounds in a trio of games last week with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 7.5. Her strongest outing came last Saturday when she recorded 14 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in her team’s win against Fitchburg State.
Amber Wilson (Anna Maria | So. | New York, N.Y.): In a pair of games last week, Wilson averaged 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds, while connecting on seven of eight freebies, including four free throws in a 63-42 win over Regis College. Wilson netted a week-high 18 points against the Pride, while tallying six rebounds and six steals. Two days later against Saint Joseph’s (Maine), Wilson recorded 13 points on 5 of 10 field goals, while adding five rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks.
