WACBA Honor Roll: Men’s Basketball Week 13 (Feb. 12th)

WORCESTER – With another week of Worcester basketball in the books, it’s now time to unveil our latest Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) Men’s Basketball Honor Roll, which includes our men’s player and rookie of the week.

Men’s Player of the Week: Devan Harris (Fitchburg State | Jr. | Danvers, Mass.): Averaged 18 points, five rebounds, 1.5 steals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Falcons. Harris collected 11 points, five caroms, two assists, and one steal in an 84-73 triumph over MCLA on Wednesday before adding a career-best 25 points, five rebounds, one assist, three steals and one block in an 80-76 victory against Worcester State on Saturday.
Men’s Rookie of the Week: Mekhi Chester (Becker College | Fr. | East Orange, N.J.): Chester stepped up this past week, averaging 14.0 points per game with 5.5 rebounds per game over two games. The rookie shot 52.9 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from behind the arc. Chester’s 13 points on Wednesday at Dean and his 15 points on Saturday against NEC were both career highs up to this point.
Chris Cardoso (Worcester State | Soph. | Jamaica Plain, Mass.): In his team’s lone contest of the week, the second-year guard produced 22 points on 7 of 15 shooting, including 3 of 8 from beyond the arc, while going 5 for 5 from the line. Additionally, he added eight rebounds (seven defensive caroms), two assists and one steal in an 80-76 setback to Fitchburg State.
Brendan Kittredge (Clark University | Sr. | Clinton, Mass.): Kittredge finished the week with 21 points and 15 rebounds in a pair of games for the Cougars. He started the week with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds in an 88-79 setback to Emerson College before putting up six points and five rebounds in a 68-66 setback at Coast Guard Academy last Saturday. Additionally, he added two blocks and two steals in Wednesday’s contest.
Antonio White Jr. (Becker College | Jr. | Middletown, Conn.): White averaged 17.0 points per game over two games this past week, along with 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 assists. The junior shot 48.1 percent from the floor and 66.7 percent from behind the arc.
Reid Walker (WPI | So. | Lithia, Fla.): Walker averaged 17 points and 5.5 rebounds, and totaled seven assists, three steals and a block in a 1-1 week. He began with 14 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal as the regionally-ranked Engineers secured a season split with Babson College on Wednesday. The sophomore finished the week with 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block at Emerson College.
