Welcome to the 2019 NCAA Division III men and women’s basketball tournaments, everyone!

In honor of the opening round, it is time to unveil a special edition of 10 Games to Watch in round one, including predictions, too.

As always, make sure to follow @Noontime_Hoops for in-game updates, scores and more from rounds one and two this weekend.

MIT vs. Saint Joseph’s (Maine) (WBB) @ 5 p.m.: The Engineers scored three wins last week, including a pair of road tournament wins over Babson College or Springfield College. They have a tone of momentum heading into this year’s tournament and should find a way to outlast the Monks. PREDICTION: MIT

Merchant Marine vs. Smith College (WBB) @ 5 p.m.: The Pioneers are back in the ‘big dance’ for the first time since the 2012-13 season. They should find a way past the Mariners, who are coming off a conference tournament finals victory. PREDICTION: Smith College

Rosemont College vs. Amherst College (MBB) @ 5:30 p.m.: The Mammoths are one of the hottest teams in New England – they recently captured the NESCAC crown last weekend on the road, and probably have a shot of making the semifinals in a few weeks. PREDICTION: Amherst College

Keene State vs. Moravian College (MBB) @ 5:30 p.m.: The Owls rallied to beat Eastern Connecticut last week in the LEC Championship. We are NOT picking against this crew, which should once again work its magic against the Greyhounds. PREDICTION: Keene State

Middlebury College vs. Nichols College (MBB) @ 5:30 p.m.: Nichols enters today’s contest with a lot of momentum after scoring wins last week over Gordon College and Western New England. Look for their momentum to continue against the Panthers. PREDICTION: Nichols College

MIT vs. Skidmore College (MBB) @ 5:30 p.m.: Despite losing in the semifinals last week in the NEWMAC tournament, these Engineers have the pieces to make a deep run. Skidmore topped Hobart in its conference championship, but we are not sure if they have what it takes to topple MIT on a neutral site. PREDICTION: MIT

Bowdoin College vs. Hunter College (WBB) @ 7 p.m.: The Polar Bears saw their 26-game winning streak conclude last weekend in the NESCAC finals. Look for a new one to begin this evening on their home court. PREDICTION: Bowdoin College

Tufts University vs. Western New England (WBB) @ 7 p.m.: The Jumbos appear to be clicking on all cylinders since losing early last month to Amherst. They should find a way past the Golden Bears, who needed to win a trio of conference tournament games last week to secure their first-ever tournament berth. PREDICTION: Tufts University

Husson University vs. Williams College (MBB) @ 7:30 p.m.: The Ephs received an at-large bid to this year’s postseason and should be able to pull out a win with its home crowd cheering them on. PREDICTION: Williams College

Emerson College at Rowan University (MBB) @ 7:30 p.m.: The Lions have been a fun team to watch this winter, but Rowan may have the advantage being in their home gym this evening. PREDICTION: Rowan University
