Today may be ‘Super Bowl Sunday,’ but that doesn’t mean we can’t hear something about our beloved New England Patriots, specifically quarterback Tom Brady.

Brady, who will officially be a free agent in a few weeks, could be persuaded to remain with the Patriots, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Rapoport reported in his piece on NFL.com today that the “Patriots are intent on keeping Brady, obviously, believing he has one or two good years left.”

Brady, as most Patriots fans would contest, did not have a great season this past fall. In fact, his postseason completion percentage was his lowest total in 41 playoff games. He finished the regular season with 24 touchdowns, which matched his total from 2006 while throwing eight interceptions for just the fourth time in a single-season.

Spending $30 million per year on Brady would line his salary up with some of the top (and elite) quarterbacks in the NFL.

In addition to the Patriots being interested in retaining their long-time quarterback, Rapoport is reporting that the Los Angeles Chargers will make a pitch to Brady, while ESPN’s Adam Schefter has confirmed with league sources that the Las Vegas Raiders would be interested in acquiring the six-time Super Bowl champion, too.

Both the Chargers and Raiders will compete against the Patriots in 2020. The Raiders will visit Gillette Stadium while the Patriots will compete against the Chargers in Los Angeles. No dates or times have been announced for either contest.
