By NoontimeSports.com (@NoontimeSports)

It’s Monday, which means it is time for a brand new New England D3 Men’s Lacrosse Top 10 Poll.

Amherst College secured the top spot yet again – the Mammoths began the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Tournament with an impressive win over ninth-ranked Bowdoin College. Amherst will take on second-ranked Tufts University this Saturday, May 5th in the conference semifinals, while third-ranked Wesleyan University will face-off against fourth-ranked Williams College. The winners of both semifinal match-ups will meet the following day – Sunday, May 6th – in the NESCAC championship with the winner securing the conference’s automatic qualifier for the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

Coast Guard Academy moved up two spots this week after finishing its regular season with a solid win over Babson College. The Beavers remained the 10th best team in the region for the second-straight week. Coast Guard will be the top seed in this week’s New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament.

D3 Lacrosse: Noontime Sports Men’s Lacrosse Top 10 (Monday, April 23rd)

NS LAX TOP 10 POLL

By NoontimeSports.com (@NoontimeSports)

It’s Monday, which means it is time for a brand new New England D3 Men’s Lacrosse Top 10 Poll.

Amherst College remains the top team in New England for the second-straight week – this past weekend, the Mammoths scored an impressive win over Bates College, which is currently ‘On the Rise’ this week. The Mammoths appear to be the front-runner for the top seed in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) – we will know more about what teams are in and where they will be headed later this week.

Tufts University and Wesleyan University remain the second and third best teams in the region, while Williams College moved up four spots following an impressive and important win over Bowdoin College this past weekend.

Williams has been an interesting team to watch this spring, but the question we have is can their late season momentum continue over the next few weeks in the NESCAC Tournament?

Finally, Endicott College returns to our ‘On the Rise’ section – don’t be fooled by the Gulls’ overall record, they have provided some serious challenges to teams on both lists this season. They will be a fun team to follow in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament, which begins this Saturday, April 28th.

It’s Monday, which means it is time for a brand new New England D3 Men’s Lacrosse Top 10 Poll.

Tufts University secured the top spot with a convincing win last Saturday over Wesleyan University, thanks to a strong second quarter that helped the hosts push ahead for good. Danny Murphy highlighted his team’s win over the Cardinals with two goals and five assists.

The Jumbos have yet to lose a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) clash this season – they face some tough challenges over the next few weeks, including Amherst CollegeBates College, Bowdoin College and Middlebury College. All four teams appeared on this week’s poll with the Panthers reappearing on our Top 10 for the first time in weeks.

Bowdoin made one of the biggest leaps in the poll, jumping up three spots to the fourth position, while Connecticut College rounded out the top five in the fifth position. Bates also moved up a few spots as well, checking-in seventh overall after securing the ninth position one week ago.

Finally, Coast Guard Academy remains the top team in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), while Western New England (Commonwealth Coast Conference) held onto the 10th position for the second-straight week with a hard-fought 7-5 win over Endicott College.
