Matt Noonan is the editor and founder of Noontime Sports and NoontimeSports.com.
A proud member of the Wheaton College (Mass.) Class of 2010, Noonan has over 10 years of experience in sports media, marketing, and social media. Additionally, he has and continues to be the host and producer of the Noontime Sports Podcast, which began in 2010 with one of the site’s first bloggers and correspondents, Andy Lindberg.
Noonan started the site in May 2009 during the “blogging boom” – the blog initially focused on both local and national sports news before focusing its attention on New England amateur, college, and high school sports in 2017.
In addition to blogging and producing an array of content through the site and its social channels, Noonan has contributed to multiple digital and print outlets since 2010, including ESPNBoston.com, Inside Lacrosse, Patch.com, and various Gannett newspapers such as the Somerville Journal and Needham Times.
Noonan has worked for two startups – BostonLax.net and Lax Sports Network – and worked in a trio of collegiate athletic communications offices, including MIT and Wheaton College. He has and continues to lend his voice to various stadium microphones as the public address announcer for Framingham State University, Harvard University, Tufts University, and the University of Massachusetts Boston. He has also called numerous college sporting events as both a play-by-play and color commentator, as well as produced and broadcasted various high school state championships and tournaments since 2017 for the NFHS Network.
Outside of his various sports media demands, Noonan is a certified high school and middle school football and lacrosse official – he got his start by officiating various adult sports leagues in 2017 and 2018 with Volo City, which acquired Social Boston Sports (SBS).
Noonan is an avid runner and walker with his dog Austin, loves to read, travel, and cook, and is always seeking news ways to enhance his communications, marketing, and social media skillsets.
