The Boston College women’s lacrosse team will look to extend its season and NCAA Division I Tournament run tomorrow when they travel to Syracuse University for an elite eight contest. BC earned a meeting with the Orange by defeating Bryant University and Loyola (Md.) last weekend in the first and second round.
BC head coach Acacia Walker talked with members of the media earlier this week about her team’s title run in a video we’ve provided below from the BC Athletics YouTube Channel.

With a busy weekend of lacrosse in the books, it’s now time to turn the page to this upcoming week’s quarterfinal matchups.
* Boston College’s women’s lacrosse team earned wins over Bryant and Loyola (Md.) on Friday and Sunday to secure a spot in the quarterfinals against Syracuse. The Eagles have competed against the Orange 11 times in program history with Syracuse winning the last meeting earlier this season, 11-9. The Eagles led the Orange at the break, 4-3, but Syracuse responded by outscoring the hosts in the second stanza, 8-5.
The winner of this contest will advance to the semifinals next Friday, May 23 against the winner of North Carolina-Virginia.
* Tufts University’s men’s lacrosse team edged Endicott College, 10-9, on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Tournament. The Jumbos will return to Bello Field on Wednesday to host SUNY Cortland, who defeated Springfield College, 14-10. The winner advances to Sunday’s (May 18) NCAA Division 3 semifinals against RIT-Union.
The last time both teams met, the Red Dragons defeated the Jumbos, 12-10, in the NCAA semifinals in 2012. Tufts defeated Cortland in the quarterfinals in 2011 and semifinals in 2010, both by a score of 10-9.
Make sure to check back later this week for updates from both contests. Also, you can find updates on both tournaments by visiting the WLAX Div. I Bracket or MLAX Div. III Bracket.
The Boston College women’s lacrosse team will be hosting the upcoming ACC Tournament, beginning on Thursday, April 24 when they compete against North Carolina in the first round. The Tar Heels are last year’s National Champions and enter the conference playoffs as the third seed.
Prior to their second meeting with the Tar Heels this season, BC head coach Acacia Walker met the media today to chat about the Eagles’ most recent win against Vermont, as well as their first-round matchup in a video we posted below. The video is from the BC athletic department’s YouTube Channel.
