WORCESTER – With another week of Worcester basketball in the books, it’s now time to unveil our latest Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) Women’s Basketball Honor Roll, which includes women’s player and rookie of the week.

Women’s Player of the Week: Morgan O’Donnell (Assumption College | Sr. | Easton, Mass.): O’Donnell averaged 20.0 points 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 33.3 percent from the floor and 100.0 percent from the foul line last week. Against Merrimack College, O’Donnell was the leading scorer with 30 points along with seven rebounds and two assists. On Saturday, O’Donnell scored the first six points of the game for the Hounds to earn her 1,000th career point. She ended the game with 10 points and six rebounds to bump her career total to 1,004 points. O’Donnell is the 24th player in Assumption women’s basketball history to reach this milestone.
Women’s Rookie of the Week: Alex Scariati (WPI | Fr. | Scotch Plains, N.J.): Scariati averaged 9.5 points and 6.5 rebounds to go with 10 assists and five steals in a 2-0 week. After establishing a new career-high of 13 points to go with six rebounds and three helpers versus Wheaton College, the freshman notched six points, seven rebounds and a career-best seven assists at Mount Holyoke College.
Hannah Favaloro (Clark University | Soph. | Blackstone, Mass.): Favaloro led Clark defensively in a 1-1 week with 20 rebounds, including 14 on the defensive end, along with nine steals. She started the week with 11 points and nine rebounds in an important conference win over Coast Guard Academy before putting up a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds in a two-point setback to Emerson College.
Sam Maglione (Worcester State | So. | Lancaster, Mass.): In her team’s lone contest of the week, Maglione netted 22 points on 7 of 15 off the bench, while adding three rebounds and three assists in the Lancers’ 96-73 win over Fitchburg State.
Angelina Marazzi (Fitchburg State | Jr. | Manchester, N.H.): Marazzi averaged 24 points, four rebounds, 1.5 assists and two steals per contest in two games for the Falcons. She collected 19 points, five rebounds, one assist and three steals in a 74-56 setback to MCLA on Wednesday before adding a game-leading 29 points, three caroms, two assists and one steal in a setback to Worcester State on Saturday.
Madalyn Smith (Holy Cross | Jr. | Sussex, N.J.): Smith was perfect from the field last Saturday in her team’s 58-48 win over Loyola. She netted 15 points on 5 of 5 shooting, including four trifectas, while dishing out a trio of assists.
Sarah Ware (Becker College | Jr. | Oakham, Mass.): Ware averaged 9.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game over three games this past week, all of which proved to be wins for the Hawks. The junior shot 68.8 percent from the floor and 80 percent from behind the arc. The biggest moment of her season came last Tuesday evening when she scored a career-high 21 points in Becker’s 53-49 victory over Eastern Nazarene, a critical win that has the Hawks in the driver’s seat for the number one overall seed in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) standings.
Spencer Vinson (WPI | Jr. | Los Angeles, Calif.): Vinson averaged a double-double with 11.5 points and 12.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week. After notching eight points and 11 rebounds against Wheaton College, the junior led all student-athletes with 15 points and 13 boards at Mount Holyoke College.
